Christmas Crusade Program begins

Staff reports

As the holidays are a season for sharing, celebrating, and uniting in the human spirit, Ascension Parish Sheriff Jeffrey Wiley has announced that plans for the 2011 annual Christmas Crusade for Children Program are now underway.

The program provides Christmas gifts for children 0-12 years of age from low-income families throughout the parish.

Applications may now be obtained from the Sheriff's Offices at the Donaldsonville Courthouse, the Gonzales Business Office or Family Services Division at the Gonzales Building Annex.

Please bring copies of each child’s birth certificate, a valid Louisiana State photo ID, proof of income, and a current copy of an Ascension Parish utility bill (proving residency).

The deadline for submitting applications is Friday, Nov. 18, 2011. No applications will be accepted after this date.

Those accepted into the program will be notified by letter.

Santa comes but once a year. As a reminder that love and magic does still exist in the world, we will be accepting money donations and new toys.

Your continued generosity will help in making happy holidays for disadvantaged children in Ascension Parish.

These contributions ensure that children enjoy all of the things we so often take for granted. Any contribution you could make would be most welcome and appreciated.
