Motion by Councilman Marvin Martin and seconded by Councilman Randy Anny to approve the minutes of the regular meeting of the mayor and council taken Tuesday, September 20, 2011.  Motion carried.  Vote as follows:

YEAS: Randy Anny, Milton Vicknair, John Wright, Marvin Martin

NAYS: None

ABSENT: Lionel Melancon, Jr.

Motion by Councilman Randy Anny and seconded by Councilman Milton Vicknair to approve the bills for the month of September in the amount of $18,012.70.  Motion carried.  Vote as follows:

YEAS: Randy Anny, Milton Vicknair, John Wright, Marvin Martin

NAYS: None

ABSENT: Lionel Melancon, Jr.

Motion by Councilman Randy Anny and seconded by Councilman Marvin Martin to authorize the town attorney to investigate the denied claims by Risk Management concerning sewer back up in three residents homes.  Motion carried.  Vote as follows:

The purpose of this project is to design wind retrofits to two (2) critical facilities in order to provide protection against wind and flood damage during major storms.

The Parish of Ascension is soliciting qualification statements for Architecture and Engineering services to provide the Parish of Ascension with design engineering, preparation of plans and specifications for bidding and inspections of this project in compliance with FEMA requirements.

The Parish of Ascension hereby requests qualifications from experienced and qualified firms to provide the needed services.

Contract, if awarded, will be on the basis stated in the Instructions to Bidders. No Bids may be withdrawn for a period of 45 days after bid opening except as provided by law.
