Sheriff's Office investigating vehicle burglaries

Ascension Parish Chief Deputy Tony Bacala is asking for the public's assistance in solving a number of vehicle burglaries that are occurring on the north end of Ascension Parish in the area of Airline Highway.

Ascension Parish Chief Deputy Tony Bacala is asking for the public's assistance in solving a number of vehicle burglaries that are occurring on the north end of Ascension Parish in the area of Airline Highway.

The unidentified suspect is targeting locked vehicles during the daytime hours in local business parking lots where purses, credit cards and other items of value are being stolen. The suspect makes forced entry into the vehicles during daylight hours by shattering the window. In one case a laptop computer was also stolen.   

As a result of the burglaries one of the stolen credit cards was used by an individual at a store on Plank Road in Baton Rouge where the suspect and suspect vehicle was captured on surveillance video. Still shots of the suspect are attached.
