Request for Qualifications will be received by the Ascension Parish Government at the Ascension Parish Government Purchasing Office, 120 East Railroad Street, Gonzales, Louisiana 70737 (mailing address PO Box 2392, Gonzales, LA 70707-2392) until November 1, 2011 at 04:00 p.m. (CST) for the following:

Architectural and Engineering Services

PROJECT HMGP 1603N-005-0004

The purpose of this project is to design wind retrofits to two (2) critical facilities in order to provide protection against wind and flood damage during major storms.

The Parish of Ascension is soliciting qualification statements for Architecture and Engineering services to provide the Parish of Ascension with design engineering, preparation of plans and specifications for bidding and inspections of this project in compliance with FEMA requirements.

The Parish of Ascension hereby requests qualifications from experienced and qualified firms to provide the needed services.  

Specifications should be obtained at the Ascension Parish Government, Purchasing Department located at 120 East Railroad Street, Gonzales, Louisiana 70737.

Six (6) copies of proposal required.

ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS

Sealed Bids are requested by Ascension Parish Clerk of Court from general contractors for construction of:

Bids will be received by and at the Ascension Clerk of Court’s Office, 815 E. Worthey St., Gonzales, La 70737 before or until:

2:00 p.m., (local time), Nov. 3, 2011

at which time and place the bids will be publicly opened and read aloud.

Upon payment of a deposit of $200.00 cash or check for each set of bid documents. An additional charge of $100.00/set will be charged to have bid documents mailed. The deposit or portion thereof is returnable as provided by the Louisiana Public Bid Laws.

Bid documents may also be reviewed only at the office of the Architect’s office listed above.

Bids must be accompanied by a bid security equal to 5 percent of the base bid and all additive alternates in the form of a certified check, cashier’s check or bid bond.

A  PRE-BID CONFERENCE will be held at the job site, 828 S. Irma Blvd, Gonzales, La 70737 on Thursday, October 20, 2011 @ 10:00 a.m. local time. Attendance is MANDATORY.

Contract, if awarded, will be on the basis stated in the Instructions to Bidders. No Bids may be withdrawn for a period of 45 days after bid opening except as provided by law.

Bidders must meet the requirements of the State of Louisiana Contractor’s Licensing Law, R.S. 37:2151 et seq.

Ascension Parish Clerk of Court reserves the right to award the project on whatever basis is in the interest of the Owner and to accept or reject any or all bids for just cause.
