Amite man pleads guilty to incest

An Amite man accused by Ascension Parish authorities of two counts each of aggravated incest and aggravated rape pleaded guilty to the two charges of aggravated incest April 26, one day before his scheduled trial.

Charles McCoy, of 1500 McCoy Road,  was accused of the involvement’s with two minor relatives over a period of six to seven years.

He was arrested by Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Detectives  May 23, 2008 after a report of molestation was made.

Judge Thomas J. Kliebert Jr., who was set to hear the trial, has ordered a pre-sentence investigation report, with sentencing scheduled for July 26.

Assistant District Attorneys Shawn R. Bush and Joni M. Buquoi prosecuted for the state.
