MINUTES OF A REGULAR MEETING OF THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL, TOWN OF SORRENTO, TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 2, 2010, 6:00 P.M. , SORRENTO TOWN HALL, SORRENTO, LOUISIANA

Members Present:

Mayor: Blake LeBlanc

Councilmen: John Braud, Wilson Longanecker, Jr., Milton Vicknair, Marvin Martin, Lionel Melancon, Jr.

Clerk: Paige K. Robert

Chief of Police: Earl Theriot

   Motion by Councilman Lionel Melancon, Jr. and seconded by Councilman John Braud to approve the minutes of the regular meeting of the mayor and council taken Tuesday, January 19, 2010.   Motion carried.  Vote as follows:

YEAS:  Marvin Martin, John Braud, Milton Vicknair, Wilson Longanecker Jr., Lionel Melancon, Jr.

NAYS:  None

Motion by Councilman John Braud and seconded by Councilman Milton Vicknair to approve the minutes of the special meeting of the mayor and council taken Thursday, January 28, 2010.   Motion carried.  Vote as follows:

YEAS:  Marvin Martin, John Braud, Milton Vicknair, Wilson Longanecker Jr., Lionel Melancon, Jr.

NAYS:  None

   Motion by Councilman Lionel Melancon, Jr. and seconded by Councilman Marvin Martin to approve the bills for the month of January in the amount of $3,181.52.    Motion carried.  Vote as follows:

YEAS:  Marvin Martin, John Braud, Milton Vicknair, Wilson Longanecker Jr., Lionel Melancon, Jr.

NAYS:  None

Motion by Councilman Milton Vicknair and seconded by Councilman John Braud to go into executive session to personnel issues of an employee.   Motion carried.  Vote as follows:

YEAS:  Marvin Martin, John Braud, Milton Vicknair, Wilson Longanecker Jr., Lionel Melancon, Jr.

NAYS:  None

Motion by Councilman Milton Vicknair and seconded by Councilman John Braud to return to the regular meeting.    Motion carried.  Vote as follows:

YEAS:  Marvin Martin, John Braud, Milton Vicknair, Wilson Longanecker Jr., Lionel Melancon, Jr.

NAYS:  None

   Their being no further business to come before the Mayor and Council and upon motion duly made and seconded, the meeting was adjourned.

MINUTES OF AN EMERGENCY MEETING OF THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL, TOWN OF SORRENTO, THURSDAY, FEBRUARY, 2010, 6:00 P.M. , SORRENTO TOWN HALL, SORRENTO, LOUISIANA

Members Present:

Mayor: Blake LeBlanc

Councilmen: John Braud, Wilson Longanecker, Jr., Milton Vicknair, Marvin Martin, Lionel Melancon, Jr.

Chief of Police: Earl Theriot

   An emergency meeting was held at the Sorrento Town Hall to discuss general sewer issues.

Their being no further business to come before the Mayor and Council and upon motion duly made and seconded, the meeting was adjourned.
