Hunter arrested for firearm charge, stolen vehicle
Authorities arrested a convicted felon for possessing a firearm and stolen things after an all-terrain vehicle he had been using was reported stolen.
Agents from the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries Law Enforcement Division said they acted on a tip to find four men hunting in a wooded area near St. Gabriel.
One of the men, 29-year-old Kirkpatrick Tasker of St. Gabriel, was arrested for being in possession of a stolen four-wheeler and for being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm, agents said.
Tasker was also cited for failing to wear hunter’s orange and for three counts of failing to comply with deer tagging requirements.
Agents seized a Remington rifle and Honda ATV.
Two other men who were hunting with Tasker also received several citations for hunting-related violations, according to agents.
Several officers from the St. Gabriel Police Department and deputies from the Iberville Parish Sheriff’s Office assisted agents in the investigation.
