Man gets 96 years for indecent behavior with juveniles

A man found guilty of indecent behavior with juveniles has been sentenced to 96 years in prison at hard labor.

Judge Thomas Kliebert Jr. of the 23rd Judicial District Court Nov. 17 sentenced 53-year-old Kim Bernuchaux of Pierre Part on the six counts. Bernuchaux received seven years on three of the counts and 25 on the other three.

All counts are the be served without benefit of probation, parole or suspension of sentence, and are to run consecutively.

Bernuchaux also must register as a sex offender in accordance with Louisiana law.

A 12-person jury found Bernuchaux guilty on all six counts after a two-day trial.

Assistant District Attorney Thomas D. Daigle prosecuted the case for the state.
