Firefighters from Fire Protection District No. 1 and other districts attending the LSU-FETI Firefighter I and II class recently went to the LSU-FETI Training Center to participate in live firefighting night drills.

Firefighters from Fire Protection District No. 1 and other districts attending the LSU-FETI Firefighter I and II class recently went to the LSU-FETI Training Center to participate in live firefighting night drills.

Their first drill was to pair up and extinguish a leaking tank fire using dry chemical extinguishers. Austin Fire Equipment donated the use of fire extinguishers for the drill.

The second drill involved extinguishing a pit fire using two attack teams with fire streams.
