Wrestling event benefits Galvez-Lake

The Galvez-Lake Vol. Fire Department wrestling fundraiser put on by Old Skool Entertainment at the Ascension Civic Center in Sorrento, proved to be an exciting evening.
Small children took in all of the sights and sounds and spectators got involved with the chanting and heckling of the wrestlers.
“Hacksaw” Jim Duggan came to wrestle and entertain for the event.
Before the show he autographed 8x10 pictures, took pictures with fans and signed pieces of 2x4 boards representing his wrestling trademark.
During his show, he waved the American flag and yelled “USA, USA,” as the crowd joined in.
During the intermissions, drawings were held for door prizes and a 50/50 drawing.
Marilyn Girard from Westwego won the 50/50 drawing.
Galvez-Lake Volunteer Fire Department thanks everyone who helped with the Wrestling Fundraiser, including the Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office, Acadian Ambulance and multiple sponsors who donated money and food for the event.
