Gonzales woman dies in I-55 crash

Staff reports

A Gonzales woman died in a single-vehicle crash on Interstate 55 Sunday.

Kim A. Dubroc, 42, was driving a 2005 Dodge Ram pickup northbound around 11:30 a.m. on the interstate when she lost control and ran off the right side of the roadway, according to Louisiana State Police spokesperson Sgt. Louis Calato.

After running off the roadway for unknown reasons, the pickup struck a milepost sign with the left front fender, Calato said.

After impact, the driver apparently regained control and steered to the left, he added.

The pickup began to rotate counter-clockwise and flipped about two times before coming to a rest upside down in a water-filled ditch, Calato said.

The Tangipahoa Parish Coroner’s Office pronounced Dubroc dead at the scene.

Calato said it is unknown if impairment was a factor in the incident.

A blood sample was obtained and submitted to the State Police Crime Lab for analysis, he said.
