Crash closes Sunshine Bridge lanes
CONVENT – A two-vehicle crash on the Sunshine Bridge resulted in a nearly two-hour closure early Tuesday morning, according to Louisiana State Police.
A 1994 Nissan Sentra stalled at the top of the bridge and a 2010 Toyota crashed into the back of the car at around 5:50 a.m., troopers said.
The crash occurred in the right-hand lane and closed both lanes of Hwy. 70 over the St. James Parish bridge, police said.
The bridge opened for traffic again at around 7:15 a.m.
The two drivers and two passengers of the Sentra were taken to area hospitals for minor injuries, according to police.
