Couple accused of staged armed robbery

Gonzales police arrested a woman and her boyfriend for allegedly staging an armed robbery.
Savetria Martin, who is a desk clerk at the Supreme Inn on Hwy. 30, reported to authorities that a man robbed her at gunpoint, according to police.
After reviewing a surveillance video, detectives discovered a book bag used to hide the money which was left behind, police said.
They looked inside and found a bus ticket with the name Nicholas Fobbs, who was identified as Martin’s boyfriend, according to police.
Martin reportedly confessed to the staged incident and both were charged with felony theft.
