Two Donaldsonville residents die in crash

Two Donaldsonville residents died Wednesday night in a single-vehicle crash in Labadieville, according to Louisiana State Police.

The 1998 Ford Escort traveling eastbound on Hwy. 398 near Hwy. 1013 left the road, causing the driver to overcorrect the steering wheel, police said. The car reportedly rotated and overturned several times.

The driver, 44-year-old Anthony Whittington, and the back seat passenger, 45-year-old Gladys Jupiter, both died at the scene, according to the Assumption Parish Coroner’s Office.
