Suspect sought in Prairieville armed robbery, attempted murder case
Deputies are looking for the second suspect in a March armed robbery in Prairieville, according to Ascension Parish Chief Criminal Deputy Tony Bacala.
Bacala identified the suspect as 18-year-old Christopher Rogers of 4285 Pitcher Drive, Baton Rouge.
Rogers is wanted by the Sheriff’s Offiice for six counts of armed robbery, six counts of armed robbery with a firearm, five counts of attempted first degree murder and aggravated criminal damage to property, Bacala said.
Authorities took into custody the first suspect in the incident, 19-year-old Johnny Ray Williams of 15205 Palomino Road, Prairieville, on March 30 and booked him into the parish jail in Donaldsonville on five counts of armed robbery and five counts of armed robbery with a firearm (additional penalties), according to Bacala.
The arrest of Williams led authorities to identify Rogers as the second suspect, Bacala said.
Deputies responded to Country Ridge subdivision off Germany Road in Prairieville during the daytime hours of March 26 to investigate a report of an armed robbery of a Hispanic male on Palmetto Road in the subdivision, Bacala reported.
Detectives learned two black males were responible for the robbery, the chief deputy said.
Williams was wanted on charges of armed robbery (over $150 cash) and armed robbery with the use of a firearm, Bacala said.
Although Williams showed his address as the Palomino Road residence, Bacala said detectives learned he was not living there.
Deputies returned to Country Ridge the following day, March 27, at about 8 p.m. after a Hispanic male reportedly was shot during a second robbery attempt, Bacala said.
He said the victim’s wound was non-life threatening.
Anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of Rogers is urged to contact the Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office at 621-INFO (4636) or Crime Stoppers at 344-STOP (7867).
