Sheriff asks for public help finding armed robbery suspect

Deputies are asking for public assistance in locating a man wanted for armed robbery, according to Ascension Parish Chief Criminal Deputy Tony Bacala.
He said authorities responded to Country Ridge Subdivision off of Germany Road in Prairieville to investigate a report of an armed robbery of a Hispanic male on Palmetto Road in the subdivision during the daytime hours March 26.
Detectives learned after investigation there were two black males responsible for the robbery, and they identified one of the suspects as Johnny Ray Williams, 19, of 15205 Palomino Road Prairieville, Bacala said.
Williams is wanted on charges of armed robbery (more than $150 cash) and armed robbery with the use of a firearm in connection with this robbery, according to Bacala.
Palomino Road is in Country Ridge Subdivision near where the robbery occurred. Although Williams shows this address as his home detectives have learned he is not residing there. A further search of Williams has been unsuccessful.
The only description of the second suspect is that the person approximately nineteen years old, 6’1”, and weighs 190 lbs. Bacala said.
Bacala said Sheriff’s Office was called back out to Country Ridge for a Hispanic male being shot during a second robbery attempt in the same subdivision; the victim’s wound was non-life threatening and he is being treated at a local hospital.
According to Bacala, the suspects fit the same description of Johnny Ray Williams and the 2nd unidentified suspect from the previous incident. He said the two men may be in a dark blue Chevrolet Lumina with a thin red pen stripe.
