Sorrento trail ride set for weekend

SORRENTO – It’s time to saddle up for the Sorrento Volunteer Fire Department annual Trail Ride and Concert.

The 25th annual event will be March 27-29 at the Ascension Civic Center on Airline Highway in Sorrento.

Horses and wagons are welcome to the weekend of events. Plenty of food and drinks will be available.

All proceeds will go to the upkeep of firefighting equipment and supplies for the Sorrento Volunteer Fire Department.

The dances are open to the public. The live music will kickoff Friday with Water’s Edge. Trent Bourgeois will take the stage Saturday.

Supper will be sold at 6 p.m. Friday. The dance will be 8 p.m.-12 a.m.

Coffee, biscuits and sausage and doughnuts will be sold Saturday at 7 a.m. The trail ride leaves Reynolds Lambert Park at 8:30 a.m. Dinner will be sold on the ride at 11:30 a.m.

After arriving back at the park between 4-5 p.m., supper will be sold at 6 p.m. Live music will be 8 p.m.-12 a.m.

Breakfast items will be sold Sunday at 6:30 a.m.

Some camper hookups are available. Riders ride at their own risk.
