Prairieville 18-wheeler driver involved in fatal crash
BATON ROUGE - A Prairieville 18-wheeler driver was involved in a crash that killed a River Ridge man Friday night on Hwy. 30 in East Baton Rouge Parish, according to a Louisiana State Police release.
Kenneth Guillot, 66, died in the two-vehicle crash at around 9:30 p.m. near University Club, troopers said.
Guillot reportedly attempted to turn left from University Club Plantation Road onto Hwy. 30 when his 2006 Toyota Camry struck the left rear trailer axle of an 18-wheeler. Troopers said the car rotated and overturned.
Cedric May, 31, of Prairieville, was driving the 18-wheeler and was not injured in the crash, troopers said.
Troopers did not suspect May was impaired, but he did submit a breath sample and the results showed that he did not have any alcohol in his system, according to the release.
Two passengers in the car both sustained minor to moderate injuries, troopers said. Both Patricia Guillot, 69, of River Ridge, and Martha Crochet, 71, of Metairie, were both transported to a Baton Rouge hospital.
Troopers do not suspect alcohol to be a factor in the crash.
