UPDATE: Authorities arrest Donaldsonville drive-by shooting suspect

DONALDSONVILLE – Ascension Parish authorities arrested a local man just before midnight Wednesday who was wanted for a drive-by shooting.
Blake Anthony Chatman, 24, 502 West 3rd Street, Donaldsonville, is suspected in an incident that occured on Houmas Street and left a victim with non-threatening injuries, Sheriff Jeffrey Wiley said.
Gonzales Police officers responding to a robbery scene on Hwy. 30 arrived to find an individual running from the area where the robbery occured, Wiley said. The man was identified as Chatman, and officers learned he was wanted by the sheriff’s office, according to the sheriff.
Chatman was taken into custody and charged with attempted second-degree murder, assault by drive-by shooting and illegal use of a weapon, Wiley said. No bond had been set as of press time Thursday night.
