Sex offender wanted for failing to register and home invasion and theft charges in an unrelated case

Ascension Parish Sheriff Jeff Wiley is asking for the public’s assistance in locating 28 year-old Dustin Sanders, who is a Tier I Sex Offender and is also wanted for home invasion and theft charges.
When Sanders last checked in with the Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office Sex Offender Division to update his work registration he advised detectives that his home address, 13202 Lambert Road Gonzales, was up to date.
On May 11, a compliance check was conducted at the home address only to learn that Sanders had not lived at the Lambert Road address for approximately six months, said Sheriff Wiley.
Dustin Sanders is also wanted by the Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office for a home invasion and theft that occurred in Gonzales in April.
Detectives believe that he may currently be in Tylertown, Mississippi living with family members or friends.
Dustin Sanders is 5 feet, 9 inches tall and weighs 170 pounds. He has blonde hair and hazel eyes. He has a large tattoo on the right side of his neck.
Dustin Sanders was convicted of carnal knowledge of a juvenile in May 2009 and was placed on probation. He has been arrested eight times in the past on charges stemming from simple burglary, theft, domestic abuse battery, and failure to register as a sex offender, once in April 2012 and again in May 2013, added Sheriff Wiley.
Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Dustin Sanders is urged to contact the Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office at 225-621-INFO (4636) or by texting 847411 to our anonymous tip line from any cellular device or Crime Stoppers at 225-344-STOP (7867).
