By His grace: Speak into existence your victory

Edith Nevis

“Lord, when doubts fill my mind, when my heart is in turmoil, quiet me and give me renewed hope and cheer.”

It is time to reboot our thinking with the written word of God.

Edit Nevis

So often in life we are faced with challenges that have been allowed to dictate the outcome of our future through the power of our words. It is unhealthy all around to wallow in self-pity and in a woe-is-me state of mind. Beware, the enemy will go on the attack. All that is required is for our attention to be diverted for just a second while focusing on a problem. Satan quickly places doubt and fear in our minds. What is then a thought swiftly travels to the heart and eventually becomes a spoken word. It is during those moments of defeat.

“Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruits.”

Have you known of a person who continually circles the wall of negativity?

No matter how much you share positive thoughts, opinions are marred with words of discouragement. How often have you heard another say, “Nothing good ever happens to me,” or, “I’m not attractive,” or, “Why can I not have success?” These are words of defeat and ruin and have no place in a child of God. It is as if that person is deliberately trying to sabotage his or her own happiness.

Don’t join the attack of the enemy; instead counteract it with the word of God. In the name of Jesus, rebuke the spirit of neglect and abuse of the mind. Such lies by the enemy contradict God's spoken words concerning you and me.

"May the favor of the Lord our God rest on us; establish the work of our hands for us — yes, establish the work of our hands."

"I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well."

"The Lord will make you the head, not the tail. If you pay attention to the commands of the Lord your God that I give you this day and carefully follow them, you will always be at the top, never at the bottom."

Well no more. It is time to detox our thinking. Replace what the enemy said about you with what the Lord has declared.

Your mindset will either be your key to victorious living or your stumbling block in life. The choice is yours.

Begin visualizing success, joy and love in your future. Believe in your heart, never doubting, you are destined for greatness.

How is this accomplished?

Use what has been given to you in love, the unadulterated word of God.

As children of God we have been given the power to call into existence whatever is needed. The word of God also makes clear that what is loosed on earth is loosed in heaven. When you and I declare victory over every aspect of our lives, we are proclaiming it is already so in heaven.

Begin each day declaring the following and watch the hand of God move in your life (from Jeremiah 29:11 and other biblical passages):

"For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."

I know your deeds. See, I have placed before you an open door that no one can shut. I know that you have little strength, yet you have kept my word and have not denied my name.

And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus.

But in that coming day no weapon turned against you will succeed. You will silence every voice raised up to accuse you. These benefits are enjoyed by the servants of the Lord; their vindication will come from me. I, the LORD, have spoken.

The Lord remembers us and will bless us. So don’t be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows.

The Lord your God is in your midst, a mighty one who will save; he will rejoice over you with gladness; he will quiet you by his love; he will exult over you with loud singing.

There may be someone who has never experienced a relationship with the Lord and desires to do so today. Perhaps life circumstances are too much to bear alone. Are you ready to live a victorious life in Christ? Allow me to extend an invitation to experience the love of God.

Please repeat this prayer: "Lord Jesus, forgive me of my sins I committed against you. I believe Jesus died for my sins and has risen again. Please come into my life and heart and lead the way. I confess you as my Lord and Savior from this day forward. In Jesus' name, amen."

Welcome into the family of Christ.

Until next time, enjoy a wonderful and safe weekend.

May the lord keep you and bless you continuously. In Jesus' name, amen.
