Residential building permits off to brisk pace in 2021
The City of Gonzales Planning and Zoning Commission reviewed 46 residential building permits issued since Jan. 2 at its meeting Monday night.
Scot Byrd, Chief Administrative Officer and City Clerk for the City of Gonzales, told commissioners permitting was on a near-record pace at the start of the year.
Many of the new construction permits were in new subdivisions, including Arbor Crossing and Sanctuary West. Others also were permitted as part of the expansion of the Conway subdivision.
The commission also reviewed three commercial permits. One was for the renovation of the CVS Pharmacy at 1624 N. Burnside Ave. The other two were new construction for Chicken Salad Chick at Heritage Crossing, 503 W. Hwy 30, and Borne Technologies at 409 Eastbank, Bldg. B. Borne Technologies is a CBD and CBG distillate producer and supplier.
