Louisiana COVID hospitalizations drop for first time since July 8
Louisiana COVID-19 hospitalizations declined Sunday for the first time since July 8, while the number of patients on ventilators also dropped.
It's the first hopeful sign with hospitalizations since they began a steady climb during the middle of June after dropping as low as 542 on June 13. Since then they have almost tripled.
The state reported hospitalizations dropped by 43 since Friday to 1,557. Louisiana's Department of Health has discontinued its Saturday report. The number of patients on ventilators dropped by 13 to 184.
Cases climbed to 107,574 Sunday, a two-day increase of 3,840.
Louisiana reported 48 more deaths for a total of 3,603.
