Kirk Boudreaux, Gonzales City Councilman, Division B, announced his candidacy for re-election today.

“Gonzales has so much to be proud of when you look at how we have continued to grow and prosper. Our quality of life is constantly improving, and our City has made great economic progress in spite of some challenges. This progress is the result of our elected officials working together. I have always put the priorities of the citizens of Gonzales first, and I pledge to continue to do so,” Boudreaux said.

During his tenure, the City has continued to improve its road infrastructure -- widening its streets at major intersections. Working with the Ascension Economic Development Corporation Board, of which he is a member, he has helped to bring several new retail outlets and restaurants to the City. Councilman Boudreaux is committed to the continued enhancement of the City’s athletic and recreational facilities. He supports the Gonzales City Police Department and the Gonzales Fire Department and is proud of the state-of-the-art buildings and equipment of each of those departments.

Boudreaux has represented all citizens of all races for the past 12 years, and he looks forward to continuing that service with honesty and integrity. Elected by his fellow councilmen, Boudreaux currently serves as the City’s Mayor Pro-Tem and is the City’s Treasurer.

Boudreaux, a lifelong resident of Gonzales, is married to Melanie Espey Boudreaux and has two married sons, Tate Boudreaux and Joel Boudreaux. He is the proud grandparent of two grandsons and one granddaughter.
