APSO arrests three in multiple vehicle burglaries

According to Sheriff Jeff Wiley, on Monday, October 22, deputies responded to the area of Deventer Drive in Geismar in reference to suspicious activity. When deputies arrived on scene they located three male subjects walking around the neighborhood pulling on door handles.

The incident was captured on surveillance video which led to the arrest of two juveniles and 17-year-old Cain Soileau.

Deputies were able to identify six vehicles that were involved.

Cain Soileau, 17, of 37313 Highway 74, Geismar, was arrested and charged with two counts simple burglary of a vehicle, four counts attempted simple burglary of a vehicle, three counts criminal trespassing, and theft. He was booked into the Ascension Parish Jail.

The two male juveniles were arrested and released to their parents.

“Citizens, please get vigilant about protecting your valuables from being stolen by ensuring that your vehicle is locked at all times and that your valuables are not left in plain sight,” added Sheriff Wiley.
