The Gonzales Police Department Detectives are asking for the public's assistance in identifying the female pictured above.

A couple from California in Louisiana on Sunday June 3, who were meeting with a foster child for possible adoption, reported to Gonzales Patrol Officers that they had stopped at Circle K located at 2031 West Hwy 30 in Gonzales for fuel. While the husband was fueling the vehicle, the wife took off her rings to apply some hand lotion and set the rings in her lap. The wife then exited the vehicle, forgetting about her rings and they fell to the pavement. The couple then finished paying and left, continuing to the adoption meeting.

The wife then realized what happened, and they returned to the store shortly afterwards. The rings were gone.

The couple has been married for 15 years, and these rings carried an enormous amount of sentimental value. The couple was distraught and very emotional over the loss of the rings.

Investigators reviewed the video surveillance from the Circle K after the couple's time of absence from the store, and investigators witnessed the above pictured female pick up the rings from the parking lot.

The woman who picked up the rings is believed to be driving a Chevrolet Sonic 4-door, silver in color.

"We anticipate no criminal charges in this case, we have just exhausted all attempts to identify the woman who found and picked up the rings in the parking lot in our attempts to return the rings to the couple. We are hoping that either the woman who found the rings or someone who knows her can help us return the rings to this couple. The rings obviously mean very much to them."

Anyone that can help is asked to call Gonzales Detectives at 225-647-9583.
