Ascension Parish Master Land Use Plan workshops to be held June 4, 5, and 6 across parish

The Ascension Parish Master Land Use Plan, a long range plan to guide the future of Ascension Parish, will host its first series of community workshops in three locations across Ascension Parish June 4 through 6.

At the meetings, participants will discuss how to protect neighborhoods, identify places where growth makes sense, and make the parish more livable. By participating, people in Ascension Parish can help decide how the parish preserves and enhances its quality of life for decades to come.

Ascension Parish residents and stakeholders can sign up now to receive updates by emailing, and will soon be able to learn more, follow the plan’s progress, and sign up to receive updates at Ascension Parish also posts periodic updates on their Facebook page.

The upcoming workshops are listed below. All workshops are the same format, so residents and stakeholders can pick the most convenient one for them to attend. For all, doors open at 5:30 p.m., and each workshop begins at 6 p.m. and ends at 8 p.m. Light refreshments will be provided.

Monday, June 4, 2018 at Oak Grove Primary School, 17550 Old Jefferson Hwy., Prairieville, La.

Tuesday, June 5, 2018 at Lamar-Dixon Expo Center Trademart, 9039 S. St. Landry Ave., Gonzales, La.

Wednesday, June 6, 2018 at Lowery Elementary School, 2389 B Hwy. 1 South, Donaldsonville, La.

The Ascension Parish Master Land Use Plan is the comprehensive plan for Ascension Parish, Louisiana. Through a community-driven planning process, the Ascension Parish Master Land Use Plan will create policy recommendations and implementation strategies to help direct future growth in Ascension Parish.
