Warrants issued for sex offenders failing to register

Update 2/7: Christopher Hendricks was located and arrested after deputies received a crime stoppers tip.He was booked into the Ascension Parish Jail and booked with failure to register as a sex offender, possession of methamphetamine, possession of heroin, and resisting an officer.
Update 2/6: Gaines was arrested the morning of February 6 on a crime stoppers tip. Hendricks is still missing.
The Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office is actively seeking the whereabouts of 26-year-old Christopher Hendricks who is wanted for failure to register as a Tier I sex offender and 41-year-old Lawrence Gaines who is wanted for failure to register as a Tier II sex offender in Ascension Parish.
A Tier I Sex Offender is classified as an offender who was convicted of aggravated offenses or sexual offenses against a victim who is a minor and will have a 15-year registration period to be conducted on an annual basis.
A Tier II Sex Offender is classified as an offender who was convicted of a sexual offense against a victim who is a minor and will have a 25-year registration period to be conducted semi-annually.
