Two arrested after school bus held up by alleged gunman
Two men were arrested on October 31 after allegedly stopping a school bus on Highway 42 in Ascension Parish. APSO deputies responded o the incident that took place on Little Prairie Road.
The bus driver told deputies two men stopped the bus, and one was open carrying a handgun on his waist. The two were later identified as Clifton Hamby and Kerry LeSaicherre, both of Prairieville.
The men advised deputies that the bus was traveling at a high rate of speed with children on the bus. The bus driver reported she was driving at the posted speed limit on the road.
Both men were charged with disturbing the peace and simple obstruction of a highway. Both were booked into the Ascension Parish Jail and released on bond.
