The Gonzales Police Department reported on Sunday that a man was brutally attacked over a "debit." The blade of a knife was broken off into his sternum.

GPD said that patrol officers were dispatched at 4:30 a.m. on Saturday morning to St. Elizabeth Hospital to question the victim, 37-year-old Ahmad Johnson, of Darrow, La. Johnson was present with a stab wound to the center of his chest.

Detectives learned that he was at a residence located at 225 Oleana Drive in Gonzales, and that the residence was owned by a subject which Johnson identified as “OG.”

According to Johnson, he and “OG” begin arguing over a debit. “OG” then allegedly stabbed Johnson during the argument and broke the blade of the knife off in Johnson’s sternum. Johnson was taken into surgery.

Trufant, as result of this investigation, was arrested and booked into Ascension Parish Jail on one count of Attempted Second Degree Murder by GPD.
