Ascension Parish Councilman John Cagnolatti reappointed to NACo Committee
Ascension Parish Councilman John Cagnolatti has been reappointed to the Community, Economic and Workforce Development Steering Committee of the National Association of Counties (NACo) for a one-year term. Cagnolatti’s appointment was made by new NACo President Roy Charles Brooks at NACo’s Annual Conference in Franklin County, Ohio in late July. Cagnolatti has been a member of the panel since January.
“It's an honor and a privilege to represent Ascension Parish serving on the NACo Community, Economic and Workforce Development (CEWD) Steering Committee,” said Cagnolatti. “The committee addresses issues important to Ascension Parish and Louisiana. Current issues being addressed are flood insurance, Community Development Block Grants (CDBG), housing and workforce development. The committee drafts policy briefs in support of programs critical to counties and parishes with direct input to the U.S. Congress, and the federal agencies responsible for those programs.”
The committee analyzes and advocates for parishes and counties on all matters pertaining to housing, community and economic development, public works and workforce development.
Cagnolatti, who represents District 10, is a former Gonzales City Councilman and is serving his first term on the Parish Council.
