Ascension Parish President Kenny Matassa announced that, starting with the August 3 Parish Council meeting in Donaldsonville, meetings of the Ascension Parish Council and its committees will be streamed live on the Ascension Parish Government YouTube channel, in addition to Ascension21.

“A mark of success in an open and transparent government is keeping pace with technological advancements,” said President Matassa. “As more people ‘cut the cable cord’ and turn to video streaming services, we want to ensure the public continues to have access to Council meetings.”

The Parish began operating Ascension21 in 2006 and Council meetings, as well as original programming, are currently archived on the Parish YouTube channel.

Anyone with internet access can view the live stream at By pressing the “Subscribe” button, viewers will receive notifications whenever meetings are live streaming and when videos have been archived.
