According to Chief Deputy Bobby Webre, Ascension Parish Sheriff’s detectives are searching for 47-year-old Shane Redmond of Baton Rouge and 33-year- old David Gonday of Gonzales. Both men are wanted for attempted first-degree murder, second-degree robbery, and simple kidnapping.

On June 11, St. James Parish Sheriff’s deputies located an abandoned vehicle on Highway 70 in Convent and located a male in the trunk of the vehicle. As the investigation continued it was learned that the male was placed in the trunk as a result of a robbery that occurred on Panama Road in Sorrento. A joint investigation with St. James Parish Sheriff’s Office revealed that the victim arrived in Sorrento and was confronted by Redmond and Gonday where they took several electronics and clothing items from his vehicle and then placed him in the trunk and drove him to Highway 70 in Convent and left the vehicle.

Anyone with the whereabouts of Shane Redmond and David Gonday are urged to contact the Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office at 225-621- INFO (4636) or by texting 847411 to our anonymous tip line from any cellular device or Crime Stoppers at 225-344- STOP (7867).
