Savor of Freedom has ended after the arrest of Jelly Roll

On Friday June 16, 2017 just before noon, Gonzales Police Department (GPD) with assistance of the Ascension Parish Sheriff was able to apprehend Devontia Thompson aka Jelly Roll after an approximately hour long foot pursuit through a wooded and residential area located on W. Worthey Road.

Detectives had received numerous tips over months relative to Devontia Thompson being in the area of his grandmothers residence but every attempted to apprehend him had failed until this morning.

Detectives are currently working numerous cases involving Devontia Thompson and we are happy to have him in custody; Devontia Thompson, 17 years of age, LKA 1930 W. Worthey Rd. Gonzales, La.

Thompson is currently being booked into Ascension Parish Prison on the following charges:

1ct of Armed Robbery

1ct of simple burglary

1ct of aggravated Battery

1ct of Unauthorized use of Credit Card

2cts of failure to appear/ bench warrants

1ct of Resisting an officer
