Prairieville man arrested on vehicle burglary charges

Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office Chief Deputy Bobby Webre reports the arrest of Juan Barajas, 17, on simple burglary and criminal trespassing charges on Tuesday, May 30.

On Thursday, May 25, deputies responded to Cypress Place Avenue in Geismar in reference to a vehicle burglary. During the investigation, deputies were able to obtain surveillance video where they observed a silver 2011 Nissan Cube with missing hub caps and two possible suspects.

APSO detectives were able to identify one of the suspects as Barajas but the other suspect was not identified.

Barajas, of 42419 Tigers Eye Stone Avenue, Prairieville, was arrested on May 30 and booked into the Ascension Parish Jail where no bond has been set yet.

This case is still under investigation.
