Ascension Parish President Kenny Matassa has announced that the Parish Finance Department has been awarded The Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting for the eighth consecutive year.

“I am so proud of the accomplishments of our Finance Department,” said Matassa. “This shows the Parish’s commitment to maintaining high standards in the way we handle the people’s money. I commend Gwen LeBlanc and her staff for this well-deserved award.”

The Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting is awarded by the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) and is considered the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting.
