Debris removal operations in Ascension Parish

A debris removal schedule has been established for the remainder of the flood recovery process.

As of Nov. 18, the public drop off point at Lamar Dixon is closed. Residents are advised not to attempt to bring debris to Lamar Dixon.

On Nov. 23, all Household Hazardous Waste and White Goods pickup will be complete. Only construction and demolition debris will be picked up after Wed., Nov. 23.

There will be a brief halt of regular debris pick up during the holidays. The remaining debris is largely a part of the Private Property Debris Removal Program or “extended curbside debris.”

Parish officials note that they are aware of the remaining debris along state highways. Officials will coordinate with state agencies to address the pickup of state highway debris.

The schedule for remaining debris pick up is as follows:

  • 11/23/16 – 12/4/16 – NO PICK UP in observance of the Thanksgiving Holiday

  • 12/05/16 – 12/22/26 – Construction and Demolition Debris Removal Operations RESUME

  • 12/22/16 – 1/08/16 – NO PICK UP in observance of the Christmas Holiday

  • 1/9/16 – 1/20/16 – FINAL PASS PARISH WIDE (Please note, your debris MUST be pushed to the right of way no later than January 9th in order for a final pass to be made.)

Residents may also go the Ascension Parish Government Complex, room 105, located at 615 East Worthey Road in Gonzales between the hours of 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Friday, to complete an application.

Ascension Parish Government is not authorized to enter private property and demolish home or push demolished homes to the right of way.
