Council to hold public hearings June 16

The next Ascension Parish council meeting will be held on Thursday, June 16 at the Parish courthouse in Gonzales. A proclamation will be presented declaring Shirley Bourque Day in Ascension by Parish President Kenny Matassa, along with a certificate of dedication to the Garney Gautreau Family.

Two ordinances will be introduced, one to amend the 2016 budget and another to grant a non-exclusive franchise to Livingston Parish Gas for installation, operation and maintenance of natural gas within unincorporated areas in the Parish.

Public hearings will be held to amend the 2016 budget, to declare surplus and authorize the sale or transfer of miscellaneous movable equipment, to create the West Ascension Recreation Facilities District 1 of the Parish to be compromised of the entire territory of West Ascension and to amend the Unified Land Development Code to provide costs incurred for additional plat and plan reviews.
