A new fire station in the works

     PRAIRIEVILLE – In efforts to keep up with growth in Ascension Parish, a new fire station, to be located on the corner of Bluff Road and Alligator Bayou, has received bids, expected to be approved.

     Fire station 34 is expected to be constructed by the low bidder, ANR Construction, with an anticipated completion date one year after its start. The station will begin with two paid firefighters but plans to expand.

     A sign boasts the arrival of the upcoming station at the future site. Funding for the $1.443 million station is generated by sales tax and millage revenue.
