- Go to a Mardi Gras boat parade: On Jan. 30 the Krewe of Diversion Mardi Gras boat parade will kick off at the La. 22 bridge by Canal bank club on the Diversion Canal. Registration will begin at noon at Manny's Bar in Maurepas, $35 per boat. Food and St. Jude items will be sold at Manny's. The live auction will begin at 5:30 p.m. or after all participating parade boats are back. All proceeds will benefit St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. - Grab breakfast at the annual Pancake Breakfast: The Gonzales Lions Club is hosting their annual Pancake Breakfast at Lamar-Dixon Expo Center on Jan. 31. Admission is $7 and includes AYCE pancakes, sausage, coffee and milk. Tickets are available through any Lions Club member or at the door the day of the event. Center Stage Performers will supply the entertainment for the day. Raffle items and jambalaya will also be for sale.
- Attend a family festival: St. Elizabeth Hospital is hosting their annual Family Fest, a day dedicated to health and learning. Activities include free screenings and interactive exhibits, free health information and fun activities for children and adults. This event is free and open to the public. Family Fest will be held on Jan. 30 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Lamar-Dixon Expo Center in Gonzales.
