Former Sorrento mayor pleads guilty in court

     SORRENTO -  Former mayor of Sorrento, Wilson Longanecker Jr., pleaded guilty in court on Jan. 19 for possessing child pornography and animal cruelty.

     Judge Jessie LeBlanc sentenced the former mayor to 40 years in prison on 42 counts of child pornography, four counts of aggravated animal cruelty and one count of obstruction of justice.

     Longanecker was arrested on Oct. 23, 2014, after law enforcement found videos on his computers at his home. The videos included children having sex, being raped and acts of bestiality.

     Longanecker served as the Mayor of Sorrento from mid-2011 to mid-2013.
