On Friday, November 20, 2015, all Ascension Public Schools will have early dismissal so that staff can participate in a mock crisis drill in partnership with local law enforcement agencies.

As part of the exercise, the staff will be testing its mass notification system, School Messenger. Parents will receive a request to update contact information including cell phone numbers for text message notifications.  In the event of a real emergency, the information will allow school officials to push critical information to you parents about their children.

“The safety of our students is of the utmost importance, and that is why partnerships with local law enforcement agencies, frequent drills at our schools and this large scale exercise are so important,” said Patrice Pujol, Ed.D., Superintendent of Ascension Public Schools.

“We want to ensure every child has the ability to achieve academic success in a safe environment, and that is why Ascension Public Schools is fortunate to have such tremendous support from its community and parents.”
