BATON ROUGE – On Sept. 25, the Foundation for Louisiana's Community & Technical Colleges hosted its second annual "Kicking for a Cause" kickball tournament to benefit the Capital Area United Way.

Teams participating in the recreational kickball tournament included Capital Area United Way, Jacobs, Baton Rouge Community College, Fletcher Technical Community College and the Louisiana Community and Technical College System (LCTCS), with participants from River Parishes Community (RPCC) and Northwest Louisiana Technical College.

"We were pleased to be able to hold this event for the second year in a row. Capital Area United Way is a great cause that we believe in, and it's a bonus that we get to have fun and foster our employee relationships while giving back to the community," said Monty Sullivan, LCTCS President.

Nearly 75 players on five teams competed in a high energy, winner-take-all kickball tournament. Team BRCC took home the first place Grand Champion trophy. Second place went to Team LCTCS, and the Fletcher team finished third.

The event began with a check presentation to the Capital Area United Way for $2,000 and concluded with a trophy and medal presentation to the winning team.
