Canary Islanders Heritage Society of Louisiana

On Oct. 3, members of the Canary Islanders Heritage Society of Louisiana gathered at the Baton Rouge Bluebonnet Library to celebrate the 19^th anniversary of its founding and the 237^th anniversary of the main emigration of Canary Islanders to Louisiana. Society member Chad LeBlanc provided a presentation titled "Canary Islanders of Louisiana,” and society member Dennis Delaney brought his photo collection of Canary Islander descendants. Scott Billigton and Johnette Downing introduced the formation of a Canary Islander’s Dance troop.
