Ascension 4-H Member's Skeet Shooting Talents Recognized by Parish Council

GONZALES – Ascension Parish President Tommy Martinez presented a parish certificate of recognition to local Ascension 4-H Shooting Sports member Matthew Abshire during the Aug. 20 parish council meeting. Abshire competed in the 2015 Louisiana Skeet Championship, and the NSSA Junior World Skeet Championship in July in San Antonio, Texas. Abshire placed first in the Sub Jr. category of the state championship, as well as third in .410 gauge and seventh overall at the world event. Also shown are Parish Council Chairman Randy Clouatre and Matthew’s father, Tee Wayne Abshire. “It was an honor representing Ascension Parish 4-H at the Junior World Championship,” Matthew Abshire said.
