Amber Alert leads to rescue of missing woman and child

Mary Jones and Denim Bureau were located, safe, after an Amber alert was released.

PRAIRIEVILLE – On Sept. 19, 54-year-old Mary Jones and two-year-old grandchild who were reported missing shortly after 6 a.m. from there Prairieville home.

Family members reported her missing after she didn't show up for work that morning.

APSO began a search for her estranged husband, Troy Jones for questioning. Authorities said they believed it is possible that Jones may have kidnapped her as they have had domestic disputes recently.

An Amber Alert was issue later that day, and at approximately 4 p.m deputies with Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office had located Mary Jones and two-year-old Denim Bureau, unharmed. Troy Jones was taken into custody of Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office.
