SORRENTO – Councilman Randy Anny and his wife Barbara both entered not guilty pleas in Federal court on Sept. 3.

The couple were each indicted on two counts of wire fraud and one count of conspiracy pertaining to alleged false claims of damages due to the oil spill in 2010, in which they received and accepted funds for repairs the indictment claims were falsified.

If found guilty, they could each face up to 20 years in prison and $250,000 in fines.

Councilman Anny still holds his Sorrento council seat with no plans to vacate, he said.
