Construction for St. Amant High School to begin

Freshman Academy to break ground Tuesday

On Aug. 4, school board members, elected officials and community representatives will officially break ground for St. Amant High School's new Freshman Academy.

This is the first of three freshman academies that will begin construction this school year in Ascension Parish.

The groundbreaking event will be held at 11 a.m. on the south side of St. Amant High School campus (under the white tent), 12031 La. 431, St. Amant.

There will be brief remarks by Superintendent Patrice Pujol, St. Amant High Principal Mia Edwards, school board members and local officials; a blessing of the ground by Father Juel Kandulna of Holy Rosary Catholic Church; a special performance by the St. Amant High School Cheerleaders; and the ceremonial groundbreaking.
