Sheriff Jeff Wiley, along with other staff from the Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office, hosted a luncheon Wednesday, June 24 for World War II Veterans. The luncheon was held at Café Lafourche in Donaldsonville and eight veterans, some with their wives, shared stories with Sheriff Wiley and had a chance to fellowship with each other. Sheriff Wiley also invited Parish President Tommy Martinez and Donaldsonville Mayor Leroy Sullivan to the luncheon.

Sheriff Wiley wanted to host the luncheon to simply show appreciation to these veterans for their service. He also gave each veteran a personalized hat with their name on it, along with a certificate of appreciation.
