APSO seeking information on attempted theft of Smoothie King

Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office responded to Smoothie King, located on Highway 73 in Prairieville in reference to an attempted theft on Friday, June 12.The male suspect arguing with the employee was described as an older black male wearing a red collar shirt.

Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office responded to Smoothie King, located on Highway 73 in Prairieville in reference to an attempted theft on Friday, June 12.

According to Sheriff Jeff Wiley, deputies began an investigation of the attempted theft and learned that two male suspects entered the store together and placed an order. An argument ensued between the suspect and one of the employees about the amount of payment. While the argument took place, the other suspect entered the office and located a safe where he attempted to open it.

Employees observed the male exit the office and walk through the parking lot of Dutchtown Primary School. He was then seen getting in the front passenger side of a white sedan vehicle with chrome rims.

The male suspect arguing with the employee was described as an older black male wearing a red collar shirt. The other male suspect was wearing a purple ball cap and a purple and white collar shirt.
